2023 marked a comeback for in-person celebrations for NYC’s West Indian Day Parade after a 2-year hiatus. Nike re-released the popular “West Indies” Airforce 1s on Aug. 26, just in time for the West Indian Day Parade.

Originally released in 2022, the sneakers were the first of four designs celebrating  the West Indian Day Parade.

The design of the sneakers are mostly white with a slither of green. The famous “West Indies” logo is on the side of each sneaker. The release was done in celebration of the sneakers’ 20th anniversary and the Airfare 1s’ 40th anniversary.

Nike paid homage to West Indian culture in the sneaker’s campaign featuring Jamaican gold medalist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Brooklyn-based dance guru Royal Gale among other West Indian influencers.

The sneakers retail at $150.00 and can be purchased online here.
