Caribbean Collective Magazine is the first magazine that represents West Indian women with a hyphenated identity in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Caribbean Collective Magazine was founded in 2020 and created by a West Indian women for West Indian women. Our goal is to be the premier platform for West Indian women that fosters community, dialogue, celebration and storytelling. Our platform serves as representation through highlighting our successes, amplifying our voices and celebrating West Indian icons, culture, beauty and fashion.
Caribbean Collective Magazine was created in response to the need for celebration, visibility, and authentic representation of West Indian womxn and our lived experiences. We recognized the absence of a platform that collectively represented West Indian womxn with hyphenated identities across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
While other publications focus on specific groups, Caribbean Collective Magazine exists to embrace the full diversity of West Indian culture. Our identities are shaped by a fusion of our Caribbean heritage and the countries we now call home. Though diverse in background and experience, we are united by one shared culture—West Indian culture.
Our mission is to empower and engage West Indian womxn living with hyphenated identities through authentic representation and storytelling. Through the power of storytelling expressed in interviews, features, creative photography, and digital media, our platform presents voices, experiences, and perspectives that deserve to be seen. You can expect fresh content, meaningful conversations, and celebration of Caribbean art, icons, feminism, beauty, music, and lifestyle.
We envision a future where West Indian womxn living with hyphenated identities are visibly represented, celebrated, and recognized globally. Through the power of storytelling expressed in interviews, photography, and digital media, our platform will continue to amplify impactful voices and meaningful work. You can expect purposeful storytelling, recognition of excellence, dialogue on issues that matter to us, and continued celebration of Caribbean art, icons, music, and lifestyle.
